4. Opportunity to show off our community and a few of the projects our Rotary Clubs have undertaken to improve the community
- We had a great time at the Silverton's Seasons Buffet and the Rio's Penn and Teller -- with generous comps by the venues arranged by Kervin Doak Communications
- "Jimmy O" Onoszko and John Stevens arranged a tour of the World Market Center and panel discussion of the Opportunities and Challenges of Rapid Growth, with thanks to panelists from our Club
Ty Hilbrecht

Amy Stevens
joined by Duane Sonnenberg of Salvation Army (arranged by Bill Raihl) and David Byerman
- Many of the volunteers joined the team to enjoy a Lake Mead Dinner Cruise, where we were also joined by President Elect Randy Campanale with wife, Karen, and Board Member Karen Whisenhunt with husband, Tom
- Michael Gordon and Amanda Hurst marshalled the new Community Rotaract Club to join the team at many events, and to host a youthful Friday night on the Strip, with Mike Rutherford of our club as a great host to boot

5. Opportunity to help foster international relations by engaging political, business, cultural, and educational leaders in an exchange of experiences. |
|
| |
6. Opportunity to work with Rotarians from around the District geographically that serve on the Committee.
- John could not have worked things out without the huge help of Wenlee Jensen of the LV Northwest Club, and the help of Mike Link of LV West
- Vegas Host families included great folks from other Clubs: PDG Roy York of the Fremont Club (and wife Kathy); President Maureen McKinley of the LV Central Club (and father, PDG John); Adrienne Cox of the LV Southwest Club
- The Moapa Valley Club showed off the Valley of Fire and rural Nevada hospitality as overnight hosts -- special thanks to Chris and Kevin Green, and to Steve and Terri Getz
- Jan Carlton of the LV West Club (and wife of our own Pat Carlton) does a fantastic job as Southern Nevada GSE Treasurer for our collection of clubs (of which 10 clubs gave funds to fund our efforts)
- Maureen and Barry Thibodeau of the Henderson Club provided a full day of Cultural Tours, including a visit with Mayor Oscar Goodman (joined by Pat Carlton and Michael Gordon; meeting arranged by Councilman Larry Brown of LV Northwest Club); Behind the Scenes Tour of the Bellagio Gardens and Fountains; the Atomic Testing Museum; and the Ethel M Chocolate Factory
- Dennis Ortwein and Vicke Wille of the LV Northwest Club arranged a half-day tour of Rotary Community Service Projects in the area, including the Booker School and NALA. (Lynn and Richard Peterson of the LV Northwest Club were on stanby as drivers, which is wonderful for peace of mind.)
- The LV West and Green Valley Clubs were both great hosts for the team to make their formal presentation. Each of those Clubs also had their "standard businiess" of excellent community service to discuss, which allowed the Team members to hear the depth of Rotary Service far beyond GSE
- President Mark McGinty of the Boulder City Sunrise Club helped arrange the Lake Mead Cruise, and Mike Link of LV West Club arranged two great speakers on water, the lake, and the West
- District Governor Nominee for 2009-2010 Tom Novotny of LV West helped on a variety of fronts
- District GSE Chair Greg Custer of the San Marino, CA Club is still working hard to make sure the team enjoys the entire District for their month in our part of the world
- Nevada State Senator Bob Beers of the LV Northwest Club helped us secure a Proclamation of May 1, 2007 as Rotary Foundation Group Study Exchange Day from Governor Jim Gibbons
