The Las Rotary Club Presents It's Second
Annual Valentine's Day Gala
Proceeds will benefit the Las Vegas Rotary Foundation
and The Shade Tree
The Las Vegas Rotary Club proudly presents it's second
annual Valentine's Day Gala on February 9, 2013 at the
fabulous Las Vegas Renaissance Hotel.
The club is pleased to be honoring Paula Francis, anchor
at 8 News Now at this event for all of her contributions
to the Las Vegas community. This black-tie event is
expected to host more than 300 esteemed business leaders
and raise more than $50,000 to benefit the Rotary Club
Foundation and Shade Tree.
Shade Tree is a safe home where women in our community,
with or without children and pets can go if domestic
violence has created a need. The organization provides
services to more than 4,000 homeless and abused women,
children and pets, and is dependent on events like this
to keep their doors open.
Paula Francis sat on the board for Shade Tree for more
than 19 years and she has recently been appointed
Trustee Emeritus. Paula has received numerous
humanitarian awards for her community involvement.
The silent auction will begin at 6 pm followed by a
reception featuring 3-course mouth watering dinner, live
auction including a puppy from a local rescue
organization, and musical entertainment. Last year, 230
people attended the gala and Rotary raised $25,000 for
the Las Vegas Rotary Foundation and Ronald McDonald
House.
In addition to The Shade Tree, proceeds will also
benefit the Las Vegas Rotary Foundation, which is a
non-profit, 501(c)3 organization chartered in 1998. The
Foundation raises and manages private funds for the
benefit of our local community. These funds enhance the
quality of life through the mission of education and
community service. Some of the beneficiaries of the
foundation include Walter Bracken Elementary School,
Vegas PBS, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Salvation Army, Boys
& Girls Club, Goody Two Shoes and the list goes on.
