DESCRIPTION:Chelsea Seegers is a Colorado transplant who has lived in Las Vegas since 2007.  At a young age she knew she wanted to be in the events world and began her career as an event manager for a local pavilion and festival planning organization.  She took her passion to the next level when she decided to attend UNLV.  At UNLV she received a dual bachelors in Hospitality Administration\, Special Event Management and Spanish.  Chelsea started her career directly after college as part of the MGM Resorts International Management Associate Program (MAP).  There she was a corporate hotel sales manager for just over two years.   The entertainment bug could not keep Chelsea in one place\, so she moved on to do special events at House of Blues and Foundation Room\, which eventually led to her transition to the wonderful new T-Mobile Arena.  There\, Chelsea is in charge of all corporate\, private bookings ranging from 20-20\,000.  Working in this brand-new\, technologically advanced arena has been a highlight of her career and she looks forward to many years as part of the Entertainment Marketing Team. \n  \nIn her free time Chelsea enjoys traveling with her boyfriend\, hiking\, and hanging out with her Ivory Labrador\, Omelet.

DESCRIPTION:Elynne Greene\, MA is currently manager of human trafficking and victim services at the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.  She began working with victims of violence in 1974 and has worked as an advocate\, a therapist and presently as an administrator.  Ms. Greene serves on the executive committee of the Community Coalition for Victims’ Rights and the Attorney General’s Nevada Council for the Prevention of Domestic Violence.  She was recently appointed to the Governor’s Commercially Sexual Exploitation of Children Coalition and is co-chair of the Care Coordination Committee. \nMs. Greene is a POST certified instructor and has presented at both state and national conferences.  She serves as an expert witness in both state and federal court in domestic violence.  She was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Red Cross in 2015.  Elynne Greene is a 24-year resident of Las Vegas.

DESCRIPTION:Debi Kinney has twenty years of experience in the hospitality industry and has recently rejoined the Clean the World team as Vice President\, CSR and Hotel Business Development.  Debi is responsible for continuing to grow the Clean the World brand in Las Vegas\, nationally and internationally through programming\, partnerships and outreach efforts that reflect the mission and purpose of Clean the World. \nIn March 2014 Debi was named one of Las Vegas’ 40 Under 40.  Her current service role includes a seat on the Board of Directors for Green Chips\, a non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening and accelerating the implementation of sustainable community initiatives in Southern Nevada through strategic collaborations of public-private partnerships.  Previous service roles include membership in the Las Vegas Hospitality Association (LVHA)\, a Board seat on the University of California Santa Barbara Alumni Association Board of Directors\, and appointment to Governor Sandoval’s Commission for Nevada Volunteers. \nDebi’s previous professional experiences include owning and operating her own restaurant consulting and event planning firm and employment with a variety of hospitality industry entities: a convention and visitors bureau\, a Six Flags theme park marketing department\, a restaurant chain\, a caterer\, and a top tier Las Vegas hotel.  In addition\, in 2004 she was recruited to manage the Meeting & Event Planning Certificate Program at a California state university.  She taught Fundamentals of Meeting and Event Planning and Strategic Event Planning and directed the program for over four years.  Most recently she served as Director of Operations for a Las Vegas business with four companies under one roof.  Her main responsibility was meeting planning for one large conference (over 1\,000 attendees) and more than twenty-five smaller meetings annually. \nDebi has been asked to present at various industry forums\, including Convene for Green 2015\, Elite Meetings International West\, the Southwest Chapter of International Association of Exhibitions and Events\, IMEX\, Las Vegas Hospitality Association\, Caesars Entertainment Diamonds are Forever FAM\, Wynn/Encore Educational Event 2011 and FIMP West Conference for Strategic Meeting Leaders\, regarding key hospitality industry issues such as sponsorship\, green meetings and strategic event planning. \nDuring the course of her career Debi has received many accolades.  In August 2010 she \ndecided to spearhead the formation of the Las Vegas chapter of Green Meeting Industry Council (GMIC) because she believes that the message of sustainability in the hospitality industry is an important one\, especially in a city like Las Vegas where the impact of meetings and events is an integral part of the community as a whole.  Debi joined GMIC and started her term as inaugural President of the Las Vegas chapter in September 2010.  The process of starting a chapter and knowing that she is leaving a legacy for others to build upon is one of her greatest professional satisfactions.  In 2009 she was recognized for her work at Caesars Palace in an international rating as one of the top 20 Convention Services Managers of the year.  Debi is a past member and Executive Board member of the San Diego Chapter of Meeting Professionals International. In 2006 she was honored with the Chapter Leadership award\, given once a year to recognize a member who has demonstrated exceptional dedication toward chapter success. In addition\, chapter leaders awarded her the Star of the Month and nominated her for the Chapter Leadership and Chapter Supplier of the Year awards. \nDebi graduated from the University of California at Santa Barbara with a Bachelors degree in Communication.  In 2000 she completed The George Washington University Event Management Certificate program\, hosted at the University of San Diego.

DESCRIPTION:Steven Seroka\, aka “The Colonel\,” is a 30-year Active Duty USAF Fighter Pilot\, Strategist & Leader and recently the Chief of Staff for Nevada’s largest business organization. He is a USAF Academy graduate with a rare depth and breadth of experience that includes the Pentagon\, combat operations and a Washington DC think-tank.  He has over 2400 flight hours that include instructor\, evaluator and combat time. He was responsible for the strategic plan for the Air Defense of North America that was put to the test on 9/11\, drafted the strategy for reconstruction and post-hostilities of Iraq after 9/11\, led the execution of over 30\,000 manned and unmanned combat sorties over Afghanistan in support of over 100\,000 ground troops and was the advisor to a Prince and Commander of the Saudi Arabian Air Force while managing $28.5 billion in contracts.   \nThe Colonel is well versed on a myriad of topics including leadership\, veterans\, energy independence\, national security & international development\, education of at-risk youth and more.  He enthralls audiences on the radio\, in the courtroom\, the classroom and in convention halls.  \nAdditionally\, The Colonel served as the State of Nevada’s Vice-Chairman for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) and is currently a Nevada leader for The US Global Leadership Coalition\, a National Security Expert for Operation Free\, Commissioner for the North Las Vegas Veterans Community Commission and acts as Public Outreach for the Nevada Veterans Council.  He is a volunteer with Nevada’s Communities in Schools engaging at-risk high school youth.

With his strong leadership and passionate vision for a hunger-free community\, Southern Nevada’s only food bank has established itself as a trailblazer in the field of food sourcing and distribution.  \nIn 2015\, Three Square distributed more than 38 million pounds of food and grocery product\, the equivalent of more than 31 million meals and a record for the organization.  Three Square works with a service network of nearly 1\,300 community partners including nonprofit and faith-based organizations\, schools and feeding sites\, which help Three Square serve more than 137\,000 individuals monthly.   \nThree Square\, which has been in operation since 2007\, is a member of Feeding America\, a national network of member food banks that engage our country in the fight to end hunger.  \nBrian’s career began as a controller for Centex Homes\, but quickly evolved into humanitarian work after serving as an associate pastor at a Baptist church in Dallas\, Texas. He then served for 14 years as Executive Director at the Wilkinson Center\, a faith-based nonprofit organization lifting people out of poverty through education and emergency services. \nBrian is a native of Little Rock\, Ark.\, and holds a MBA degree from Louisiana State University and a Master of Divinity from Southern Seminary in Louisville\, Ky.  When Brian is not working\, he enjoys writing\, reading\, bird-watching\, traveling\, and hiking up Mt. Charleston with his basset hound.

DESCRIPTION:General Leavitt entered the Air Force in 1992 after earning her bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering from the University of Texas and her master’s degree in aeronautics and astronautics from Stanford University. She earned her commission as a distinguished graduate of the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps program. General Leavitt has served in a variety of flying\, staff and command assignments and has commanded at the flight\, squadron and wing level. She is a graduate and former instructor of the U.S. Air Force Weapons School and is a command pilot with more than 3\,000 hours. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Morgan State University where she continued her education and earned a Master’s Degree in Public Health. As a public health advocate she has worked as a clinical research coordinator on several clinical trials across a multitude of specialties including endocrinology\, oncology\, and most recently neurology. It was in that role that she developed an understanding that the care-partner needs as much if not more support than the patient. Switching roles from direct patient care\, she now oversees the many community education and support programs offered at the center.

DESCRIPTION:Dr. Luciano “Lu” de Sylva started his professional career as a businessman and has owned several successful businesses. \nAttracted to the idea of a career in service to others\, Lu decided on the field of education and pursued graduate work to earn his teaching credential. He then taught at intermediate and high schools in Colorado before moving to California where he continued his career in school administration and academia. Always involved in the community and with a personal commitment to help others\, Lu served as a reader for the blind\, a Regional Program Evaluator for the United Fund and Chair of the Community Holiday Basket Program\, which he brought to the Rotary Club as a partnership. \nLu joined Rotary in 1983 and has been actively involved at the Club and District level ever since. He served as President of the Rowland Heights Club in 1990-91 followed by a term as Governor’s Representative. Lu became a member of the Rotary Club of Walnut Valley in 1996 and served as President three times. He has also been Assistant Governor. District Club Service Chair\, District Trainer\, Foundation Mentor\, 4-Way Speech Contest Chair\, Rotaract Chair\, and has served on the Ambassadorial Scholarship and Peace Conference Committees. A multiple Paul Harris Fellow\, Lu enjoys Rotary travel and hands on service. In addition to continuous local community service activities\, he has served on a Rotoplast Team to Guatemala in and distributed wheelchairs in Hermosillo and Guaymas Mexico. \nLu and his sweetheart Hazel have been married for 36 years and have three sons and two grandsons. They are committed to Rotary and look forward to the many opportunities that will be presented through Rotary to serve humanity.

DESCRIPTION:Jim Kohl was born in Philadelphia\, Pennsylvania. He attended and received a B.A. from Guilford College in 1988 and a J.D. from the Villanova University School of Law in 1995. Jim moved to Las Vegas in 1995 and has resided there ever since. He has been a member of the Las Vegas Rotary Club since 1996. Jim’s Rotary service includes having been the 25 Club President\, the Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) Chairman and a member of the Board of Directors. Jim is married to Judith Simon-Kohl. They have two sons\, Jack and Kyle. \nJim sat for and passed the bar in 1995. He has been practicing law in Nevada since that date. Jim’s peers recognized him as one of the outstanding attorneys in Nevada by selecting him as an AV rated lawyer by Martindale-Hubbell®\, a Top 100 Lawyer in Nevada in the Nevada Business Magazine and a Super Lawyer in Mountain States Super Lawyers. He has extensive experience in all phases of litigation and his litigation career includes winning a $60\,000\,000 judgment for a client’s loss of its intellectual property rights. Jim also represents and advises business owners in the creation\, acquisition\, and disposition of entities and real estate. \nJim is currently a Nevada Supreme Court appointed mediator\, a United States District Court appointed mediator\, and a Mediator for the Clark County Neighborhood Justice Center. Jim has been an arbitrator and mediator for the State Bar of Nevada Fee Dispute Committee since 2006 and an arbitrator for Nevada’s Court Annexed Arbitration Program since 2008.
