DESCRIPTION:  \nThomas A. Thomas is the Managing Partner of the Thomas & Mack Co.\, an investment management and commercial real estate development company. Mr. Thomas has managed the company since its formation in 1992. \nAfter completing his legal studies in 1986\, Thomas joined the Valley Bank of Nevada as Vice President and Legal Counsel. Thomas also served as the Regional Vice President for retail banking operations and Senior Vice President over Private Banking and Corporate Trust Services. With the merger of Valley Bank of Nevada into Bank of America in 1992\, Thomas left his banking career to formalize the real estate and wealth management operations of the Thomas & Mack Company. The Company owns and operates over 4 million sq. ft. of office and light industrial properties in Las Vegas as well as real estate developments in California\, Arizona\, and Utah. \nThomas received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Finance from the University of Utah in 1982 and a Law Degree from the University of Utah College of Law in 1986. He is also a graduate of the National Graduate Trust School at Northwestern University. \nFor over two decades Thomas has been intimately involved with numerous local charitable organizations. He has chaired the UNLV Presidents Associates\, the Opportunity Village Foundation Board\, the Board of Governors of the Utah Shakespeare Festival\, and served as President of the Las Vegas Rotary Club. Thomas was also instrumental in establishing the Thomas & Mack Legal Clinic and the Thomas and Mack Moot Court Facility\, both at the UNLV Boyd School of Law. DESCRIPTION:Roger Thomas is executive vice president design for Wynn Design and Development. He created the interiors of Wynn Las Vegas and Encore at Wynn Las Vegas. He led the interior design of Wynn Macau and designed Encore Macau.  Mr. Thomas just completed and opened the opulent Wynn Palace\, Cotai\, China.  \nMr. Thomas was senior vice president and director of interior design for Atlandia Design\, a wholly owned subsidiary of Mirage Resorts Incorporated.   For 20 years\, he designed the interiors of the company’s many properties\, including the Golden Nugget hotels in Las Vegas and Laughlin\, and the most important properties on the Las Vegas Strip\, the Mirage\, Treasure Island and the world-famous Bellagio Resort. \nWhile a recognized leader in interior design for the hospitality industry\, Mr. Thomas has also designed corporate offices and aircraft interiors\, as well as the private residences of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen A. Wynn. \nThe Roger Thomas Collection includes signature designs and products for APF Master Framemakers\, Boyd Lighting\, Edward Ferrell + Lewis Mittman\, Fromental\, More and Giles Leather\, Rocky Mountain Hardware\, Samuel and Sons Passementerie\, Townsend Leather\, Veneman\, Koroseal\, S. Harris\, Maya Romanoff\, SICIS\, Speakman Plumbing\, The Phillips Collection and Studio A. \nMr. Thomas was elected to the Hospitality Design Platinum Circle in 2005 and received a Lifetime Achievement award from the Network of Executive Women in Hospitality in the same year. In 2008 Mr Thomas was named “Designer of the Year” at The International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show® (IH/M&RS) in New York. In February 2009\, Mr Thomas received the 2009 Design Icon distinction from the World Market Center in Las Vegas\, and in November 2009\, he received the Jay Sarno lifetime achievement award at the G2E expo in recognition of his significant career achievements in the field of casino resort interior design. In 2010 Mr Thomas received the Excellence in Design award from the Interior Designers Institute. In 2012 he was inducted as an icon by the Art Academy University of San Francisco. Mr. Thomas is a member of Architectural Digest’s A.D. 100. In 2015\, Mr. Thomas was installed in the Interior Design Hall of Fame.   \nAn avid supporter of the arts\, Mr. Thomas founded the Bank of America Nevada Fine Art Collection. He served on the boards of the Nevada Museum of Fine Arts\, Neon Museum   Nevada Institute for Contemporary Art\, Nevada Ballet Theater and the Wheelwright Museum Santa Fe\, New Mexico. He was a Trustee of the Las Vegas Art Museum and is currently a member of the Las Vegas Performing Arts Center Foundation Board. \nAdditionally\, he has taken an active role in the arts and architecture of the city\, county and state throughout his professional career. He served on the Nevada Arts Council\, a gubernatorial appointment; the McCarran Airport Arts Advisory Committee; the Clark County Government Center Architect Selection Committee; the Clark County Federal Courthouse Architect Selection Committee; and the Las Vegas Performing Arts Center Architect Selection Committee. \nMr. Thomas serves on the Board of the Smith Center for the Performing Arts. \nMr. Thomas is a graduate of Interlochen Arts Academy and The School of the Museum of Fine Art in Boston\, MA. He received a BFA in Art History from Tufts University and an honorary masters’ degree from the Interior Design Institute. His work has been published in leading journals\, including Architectural Digest\, Elle Décor\, Interiors and Hospitality Design. \nBorn in Salt Lake City\, he has lived most of his life in Las Vegas\, where he still makes his home.

DESCRIPTION:Rob Cornelius\nVice President of Business Development\nUnited World Sports\, LLC\nUSA Sevens\, LLC \nMr. Cornelius came to Las Vegas from Southern Colorado to attend UNLV in 1988.  One day\, freshman year\, a stranger told Rob he looked like a football player and asked if he wanted to play rugby.  Having no idea what he was getting into\, he attended a practice and ultimately became a rugby fan for life. \nAfter graduating with his hospitality degree\, he joined the staff at the Hard Rock when it opened in 1995.   \nFor fun Rob would attend the USA Sevens Rugby Tournament in San Diego.  Seeing the potential of the sport and the Tournament\, Rob and a strategic group of people from LVCVA and other area businesses successfully persuaded the International Rugby Board to move the tournament to Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas in 2010.   \nLater that year\, Rob joined the staff of USA Sevens as the Las Vegas Director of Business Development and has been instrumental in growing the rugby tournament into a full-fledged international event.  Rob oversees hospitality\, sponsorships\, and local operations and outreach. \nSince Rob joined the company\, attendance has increased four-fold and local participation and outreach have grown exponentially.   \n

SUMMARY:Wine To Water
DESCRIPTION:Rotarians and their guests gather in the home of a member to raise money for ONE DROP\, a program founded by Guy Laliberte\, producer of Cirque Du Soleil.  We have two guest speakers; a sommelier to educate us on some aspect of wine\, and another to bring us up to date on the need for clean water locally\, nationally\, and globally.  There’s plenty of wine\, food\, and raffle prizes.
