Her adeptness in cultivating community partners has elevated the presence of the Museum and promoted it as a “go-to” educational resource for Southern Nevada and its diverse community. \nShe joined the Museum in 2007 as the Director of Programs and Education\, promoted to Deputy Director in 2009\, and most recently served as Interim CEO before officially being named President and CEO in 2015. Prior\, she was the Director of Community Outreach – ScienceReach and Science Clubs\, for Discovery Place Inc.\, in Charlotte\, North Carolina. \nWhite is currently working on her Executive MBA at the University of Nevada\, Las Vegas. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte\, North Carolina. \nWhite is a member of several community service organizations\, including Delta Sigma Theta Sorority\, Inc. and the Junior League of Las Vegas to name a few. She has demonstrated her commitment to serving her community by her active and hands-on work within various community service organizations in diverse roles from president to committee member. \nWhite lives in Las Vegas\, Nevada. She enjoys spending time with family and friends and loves to travel especially to new places. One of her favorite quotes is “Service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on Earth” – Muhammad Ali.

As Chief of Staff\, he also chairs the company’s Executive Communications Council\, and Communications Management Team. \nHe has served in senior Communications positions with BAE Systems\, Inc.; Anthem Blue Cross & Blue Shield and Blue Cross & Blue Shield of New Hampshire\, and Nevada Cancer Institute. He began his career as a broadcast journalist.  \nHe has a Bachelor’s Degree from American University and a Master’s Degree in Communications Management from Syracuse University. He is accredited as a public relations practitioner by the Public Relations Society of America (APR) and is a member of the Arthur W. Page Society. He serves on the Dean’s Council at the Greenspun School of Urban Affairs at the University of Nevada Las Vegas. He has also served on the National Dean’s Council of the Columbia School of Arts & Sciences at George Washington University. \nHis volunteerism portfolio includes chairing a community United Way Campaign\, serving as a board member of public radio and public television stations\, City Year as well as other health and social agencies\, including the Board of Directors the American Red Cross of Southern Nevada\, where he received the Board Member Recognition Award in 2017.

DESCRIPTION:Back in the 1970s in Fresno County\, California\, “The Raisin Capital of the World” had heavy rains just as its grapes were lying out to dry resulting in thousands of tons of soggy\, rotting raisins. A major cereal company that used raisins in its products suddenly had to spend millions finding a new supply. Later that year\, a vice president for the company was put in charge of finding an advisor to warn them ahead of time if weather disasters would threaten their bottom line.He found Dr. Iben Browning\, a scientist with degrees \nHe found Dr. Iben Browning\, a scientist with degrees in physics\, math\, chemistry and a Ph.D. in biology. Dr. Browning was one of the CIA’s top scientists\, able to coordinate scientists and scientific disciplines. However\, his real passion was weather and the new discipline of climatology. The company gave Browning a contract and the business was born and has been providing accurate 3-24 month climate forecasts for over 40 years.James Garriss is the third generation of the Browning family to continue the \nJames Garriss is the third generation of the Browning family to continue the business.
