Susan M Ziorbro
Director - Special Projects
Susan is a native Washingtonian of the PacNW who learned about hard work and volunteerism at a very early age while attending parochial school. She visited nursing homes and read to the residents. That was the beginning of a lifetime of service above self for her that has continues. She served as Skagit Valley College student body treasurer and earned a degree in Arts Administration from Western Washington University. She became familiar with running a board and meeting deadlines. Not long after, she married Capt. Bernard Ziobro, USMC and began to volunteer with the Navy Marine Corps Relief Society. As a military spouse and mom of three, Susan juggled family, military moves, employment, and volunteering. Finding Rotary was serendipitous. In the spring of 2020, she met Kathy Frakes, Executive Secretary of the Las Vegas Rotary Club at a soccer tournament. Kathy was preparing to move and invited Susan to submit her resume to fill her position. Fortunately she got the job which was reclassified a few years as duties increased to Executive Director. From 2005 to 2020 Susan worked at the LVCVA (Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority) and worked in four departments – Marketing, Operations, Finance, and Human Resources. Today Susan is a Nevada licensed producer for health and life insurance and a Records and Information management professional. She is a Past President of Las Vegas Toastmasters, and past 25 Club President. Susan is grateful to her sponsor, Past President Karen Whisenhunt for being able to return to the club as a member in 2021. Susan retired June 30, 2023 and is the sole member of Capture This RIM Services LLC. Susan and Bernard (Lt. Col., USMC Retired) plan to stay in Las Vegas and enjoy travel, music, dance, swimming and biking, and of course visiting family and friends for as long as they can. Susan looks forward to keeping Youth and Vocational service programs healthy through her tenure and serving as needed.
