Rotary-Salvation Army Canned Food Drive
The annual Salvation Army Canned Food Drive is a community service initiative led by the current President of the 25 Club. Each year, through coin collections, special events, and individual contributions, the Las Vegas Rotary Club joins in friendly competition with the Las Vegas Kiwanis Club to raise funds supporting food assistance programs across our city. Through a long-standing partnership with Three Square Food Bank, the Las Vegas Rotary is able to provide three nutritious meals for every dollar raised.
In 2025, Rotarians raised more than $28,000 for the Canned Food Drive.
In some years, a surplus of food purchased has allowed support to extend to nearby organizations, including the Shade Tree shelter for women and children.
We have raised over $251,000 to help provide meals for individuals and families experiencing food insecurity.
The drive begins each fall and culminates in a joint meeting with the Las Vegas Kiwanis Club on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. This meeting features a report of the drive’s results and a lighthearted tally of fundraising efforts. While the Las Vegas Rotary Club has “won” the challenge, the true success lies in the positive impact delivered to the community.
