Don Holland is a second-generation Rotarian. During his career, he served as communications and policy advisor to a member of the San Bernardino County, Calif. Board of Supervisors. Previously he worked for 25 years as a newspaper researcher, reporter, city editor and editor-in-chief of daily newspapers in Southern California. He also served as a journalism trainer at 11 Ukranian newspapers under a program sponsored by the federal government.
He retired in 2020 and moved to Henderson. He is currently researching and writing the only biography on Capt. Joseph McConnell, Jr., the highest-scoring jet ace in U.S. history. He also displays at no cost his mobile military museum at various public venues.
