DEBRA HOWARD
Director - Service Projects, Youth and Vocational
Debra Howard has been a Rotarian for just under four years. During that time, she was actively involved with the 25 Club, serving as President, along with being a two time Paul Harris contributor and a Tiberti Fellowship recipient. The Las Vegas Rotary Club is where her passion for community service and volunteer work fulfill the purpose of service above self.
Debra grew up in rural Illinois, where community service was vital to the ongoing economic growth of the “small town” mid-west life. Being raised in a large family was a constant real world lesson in shifting ones focus of self to that of others, prioritizing “service above self” and carrying those traits into the community as an adult.
This dedication to service above self is a natural continuation of a 25 year career in the family law and bankruptcy field as a Certified Legal Assistant (CLA), specializing in mediation and litigation. Debra has assisted countless families and individuals in navigating their complex and sensitive situations. This ability was first honed in through an unexpected role as a flight attendant supervisor with a private airline, assisting with certification of the 727 fleet along side the FAA, demonstrating meticulous attention to detail and unwavering commitment to safety, which later allowed for the progression into the legal industry.
Debra, now retired, spends her time in the community instead of the courtroom, where she remains driven in her deep commitment to humanitarian causes, continuing a life long legacy of service to the community and for the global initiatives close to her heart.
